I was thinking about how much I love my dog and accidentally a dog!john

Reblogging this because it’s cute and also because how awesome a plot twist would it be if John is actually a dog and Sherlock is just fucking crazy

Sometimes I like to send new fans the link to Alone on the Water and tell them it is the happiest, most uplifting story I’ve ever read.

and when they’re like

I just say

Around the 26th time I sang the theme song to Pirates of the Caribbean, I realized there was a shiny new circle of pirate-themed hell that Dante never discovered.

Sherlock Holmes would be so happy there.

The end is nigh.

“With both Cumberbatch, 36, and Freeman, 41 today, now enjoying flourishing film careers, there are no plans for further episodes beyond that, with insiders admitting that the forthcoming series is likely to be the actors’ final outing in the famous roles.”

He’s dead, Sherlock, we found him this morning in his flat. Shot himself in the head. He left a note: You didn’t come back, so I’m coming to you. -John

okay, OW, that was my soul. It’s alright I didn’t need a heart anyway. I’ll just go and sit quietly in this corner now…

OK CAN WE JUST TALK FOR A MINUTE ABOUT HOW THIS IS ACTUALLY ONE OF MY GREATEST FEARS.

Not this Sherlock and John, of course. Martin Freeman’s Watson is way too much of a boss after he meets Holmes, and while I haven’t watched Reichenbach since it aired, I really remember the warmth and approbation in that scene where he’s talking to the headstone. He’s grieving, he wants his friend back, but he’s incredibly grateful to Holmes for helping him to become the man he is that day.

BUT WHAT IF SOMEBODY OUT THERE SOMEDAY THINKS IT MIGHT BE A GOOD IDEA TO PUT TOGETHER SOME SHIT LIKE SHERLOCK HOLMES: THE TRAGEDY, AND THEY START CHANGING ALL THE THINGS THAT MIRACULOUSLY WENT RIGHT IN THE CANON SO HOLMES ENDS UP CRIPPLING HIMSELF AND WATSON KILLS HIMSELF WHILE HOLMES IS GONE BECAUSE CRIPPLED HOLMES CAN’T KILL PEOPLE QUICKLY AND EFFICIENTLY AND HOLMES COMES BACK AND IN HIS GRIEF BECOMES A VIGILANTE AND GETS KILLED AND THEN MICROFT HAS TO INTERCEDE FOR REVENGE ON HIS BROTHER’S BEHALF AND HE GETS KILLED TOO AND THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN IT’S LIKE THE LAST TEN PAGES OF HAMLET BUT WITH CHARACTERS YOU ACTUALLY LIKE.

Cute! They both look really young in these. I wonder if Sherlock would’ve had as many issues as he does if he’d met John earlier on in life….sometimes I think no, he would’ve been a bit of a prickly jerk but otherwise totally fine, but then I remember John wouldn’t be the person his experience in the army changed him into, and maybe wouldn’t be as interesting a conundrum for Sherlock….

Whatever. These gifs are cute : )

Just came back from an AMAZING stage adaptation of one of the Holmes adventures! More on it later, but God, is that man incredible or what: movies, plays, television, novels, and magazine inserts, and he flourishes in all of them!

GUYS THERE WAS ONCE A MAN NAMED CANON HOLMES.

Seriously. His name was ‘Canon Holmes,’ and he started an education fund.

OH MAN…

…SHERLOCK HOLMES WOULD BE OVER THE MOON RIGHT NOW. Driscoll is currently surrounded by bees. It is an apiarist’s fantasy. I, however, am somewhat more concerned about anaphylactic shock. But still. I can appreciate it from Sherlock Holmes’s point of view.
